To be honest, I am a procrastinator.
I knew about the Santa Barbara anniversary for months, and yet, last Friday was the day I decided to peruse You Tube for quintessential Santa Barbara moments. And while I had a lot of fun reliving memorable moments from this show, I fear that I was trying too hard to sell people on this show, when it should be about reminiscing. In addition, You Tube doesn't have every single hour of this show, therefore it is impossible to chronicle the show accurately. However, I remain thankful that both American and international fans had the wherewithall to save their tapes and upload them for desperate fans, like myself, to see.
So again, my ensuing posts will not be about chronicling the whole history of the show. They will focus on my favorite moments and characters... that were readily available on You Tube. I will do my best to find clips that weren't dubbed over in another language, since I tend to avoid dubbed films in real life. Dubbing compromises performance and the intentions of the writers, directors, and actors.
So let the fun begin...
Here are some clips from the mid 80s that summarized a particular year in Santa Barbara:
And here is Brad Sanders aka Cla'ence, doing a special Cla'ence Update about the happening in Santa Barbara. I think that he was still doing the Cla'ence Update for All My Children or he had made his move to Young and the Restless.
